To achieve optimal milk frothing results, follow these steps for a smooth process:
- Select the Right Milk: For best results, we recommend using fresh milk with a fat content of 3-3.5%.
- Keep Milk Refrigerated: Ensure the milk is refrigerated at approximately 0 to 4 degrees Celsius to maintain its freshness.
- Fill the Pitcher: Pour the fresh milk into the pitcher, filling it up to just below the bottom of the pouring spout.
- Positioning: Place your steam wand at the 3 o’clock position inside the pitcher, with the pouring spout facing north.
- Steam Wand Placement: The tip of the steam wand should be approximately 1 cm below the surface of the milk.
- Incorporating Air: Start incorporating air to create foam by lowering the pitcher while maintaining a 1 cm distance between the steam wand and the milk surface.
- Texturing the Milk: Begin texturing the milk by creating a fast spinning motion with the pitcher. Remember, the more time spent spinning rather than introducing air, the smoother the final microfoam will be. Aerate quickly and focus on spinning the milk for the remainder of the process.
- Monitoring Temperature: While texturing the milk, periodically tap the pitcher with your palm to monitor the milk’s temperature. Stop frothing once the pitcher becomes too hot to touch or ideally around 60 to 65 degrees Celsius.
- Pouring and Latte Art: Finish by pouring the frothed milk into your cup, allowing you to create your favorite latte art. The beak-like funnel spout of the pitcher will facilitate easier and more precise pouring for latte art designs.
